We seem to recall this was an invitation from James Taylor many moons ago. | OK, Mr Taylor may not specifically have been wandering about looking for London's concert venues but there are many, many music venues in London - and catering for every conceivable taste in music !
London's music scene is as varied and eclectic as it's possible to be. London is one of the major classical and popular music capitals of the world . London is also home to many major music corporations, such as EMI and Decca Records .
Countless bands, musicians and industry professionals have made London their home.

London hosts world-class concert halls such as the Barbican Arts Centre , in the City of London , principal base of the London Symphony Orchestra ; Cadogan Hall , home of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the Royal Albert Hall .

|  | | Royal Opera House - the posh seats | The finale of the Promenade Concerts is 'The Last Night of the Proms' , an all-too-rare emotional outpouring of pride and flag-waving by the normally reserved British joined eagerly by our overseas guests. The concert is displayed on large screens in Hyde Park and other major cities in the UK.
London has two main opera houses being the Royal Opera House , Covent Garden , home to the Royal Opera and the Royal Ballet ; and the Coliseum Theatre , home of the English National Opera .
Several 'conservatoires' are located in London including the Royal Academy of Music , the Royal College of Music , the Guildhall School of Music and Drama , and the Trinity College of Music .
London has something to offer all lovers of music, Classical or otherwise.
