Ray was born and brought up in the war-torn streets of Bermondsey, near to Tower Bridge in London.
In those post-war days in London's 'inner-city', the incomes were low but the principals high. The help from neighbours was free but the lunches were not !
London in the late 1940's and 1950's was a privileged time and place to grow up. Bermondsey people had little and the only way was up.
Ray has witnessed the ruins and the tragedy that was London 60 years ago grow into the thriving metropolis that it is today. He has spent most of his career working in the City of London and experienced the highs and lows of City life. | | | His love of London has not diminished over the years and www.LondonFreeandEasy.com has been put together to share information about , and to help others better understand London , the city in which Ray grew up. |
